The expansive, approximately 100-hectare Kulturkosmos site in Lärz is a unique location and extraordinary stage for a theatre festival, with its former aeroplane hangars and a landing strip, various circus tents, and different open and parking spaces. It also has a large campsite with a lake suitable for swimming.

SUMMARY of at.tension festival 2019

We look back, fully satisfied and with a happy-exhausted face at four days of the greatest theatrical fun. The at.tension#8 was completely sold out and a total of 8,500 guests were able to satisfy their hunger for theatre at the countless performances of Cirque Nouveau, object- and puppet theatre, dance, performance, workshops, street theatre and good music.

With a better weather than any forecast could offer, major incidents and accidents were fortunately absent.

We are getting ready to clean up now and are already looking forward to at.tension #9, which is expected to take place from 02.-05.09.2021.

Since the earliest days of the festival, we've wanted to go beyond just providing art for consumption and so we were really pleased to hear from many of you that the seventh edition of the festival also provided you with lots of inspiration and a welcomed place to recharge your soul away from the routine of everyday life, which inevitably caught up again soon afterwards. And by the way, it's still the case that almost all of the work is done voluntarily by many, many helpers and supporters. We're really grateful for this, as without this kind of commitment we could never put on the festival in such a professional, well organized and creative way. We therefore want to extend our warmest thanks again to all those that pitched in! We're particularly thankful to the many helping hands in the kitchen, those who helped out with the compost toilets and sanitation, the bin crew and all those people who worked day and night on the stages and in other places to make the festival possible in the first place. Finally we want to thank everyone who came and took part in at.tension#8 and made those few days so unforgettable. We saw pretty much nothing but wonderful, cheery, happy faces the whole time, enjoying the weather and seeing a festival of the highest quality. And the whole site looked much cleaner than in previous years. The next two years will definitely feel very long and that means we'll be looking forward to seeing you all even more next time around! Until then,

the at.tension crew

Tickets

A ticket for at.tension#8 costs 95,-€ for anyone aged 13 and older. Included in the ticket price are 2 entrances for the visitor-limited events at the festival. Tickets for children between the age of 4 up to 13 cost 20,-€. Since the visitor-limited events usually have an age limit, the children's tickets do not include any entrances to the visitor-limited events. The at.tension festival 2017 was sold out in only a few minutes. That is why we decided this year to choose the fairest way to give away tickets: a raffle of ticket buying options.

Anyone interested would have to register for their at.tension tickets here on the website in the period from May 17th to May 27th 2019 and create a ticket account. It is possible to order up to 4 tickets on each ticket account. Children's tickets can be ordered additionally. Since a group of friends and / or family can sometimes be somewhat larger than the 4 possible ticket buying options per ticket account, additionally a so called "Clique" can be formed. In a Clique you may include several ticket accounts and thereby connect the ticket registrations, and by doing so you take the chance, as the whole Clique, to either win or lose the ticket buying option all together. The raffles for the purchase options will take place on May 31st, July 11th and August 7th 2019. The winning ticket accounts will then contain all necessary information about the payment period, in addition with the required payment and bank details. Since the tickets cannot be cancelled, we will set up a ticket exchange. We would like to encourage all ticket holders and potential buyers to sell or buy the tickets fairly at the original price. An overpriced resale is disrespectful to the voluntary commitment of the at.tension organisers and everyone involved. To make profit at the expense of creative artists and committed volunteers is deeply capitalistic and has no place in our environment. There will only be day tickets for Saturday and Sunday, for 30,-€ each, and, without exception, exclusively for guests from the region (northern Brandenburg and Mecklenburg Vorpommern). With this we want to create a cultural local offer and give the people from the region the possibility to get an insight into the colourful theatre spectacle at the Kulturkosmos site.
