The project of an emancipatory left alternative to the capitalist system is linked with the question of the means of overcoming it. At the G20 summit in July 2017 in Hamburg, it was the images of protest that determined the public impact of the meeting. Militant forms of action played an important role. Were these events omens of an upcoming uprising or a flash in the pan for a revolt that has been exhausted in mere confrontation with the police? Burning barricades and cars, plundered shops and a temporarily police-free zone have led to different political assessments among the radical left. This book attempts to analyse the Hamburg events of July 2017 with a view to militant forms of action. The aim is to understand different ideas about militant left-wing political concepts not as contradictory positions, but as a productive dispute over the correct strategy.

"Love songs from Madrid to Casablanca - a musical travel report (and a concert)" During a three-week artistic expedition from Madrid to Casablanca in late summer 2016, Bernadette La Hengst collected love songs and opened her mobile Café Europa in public places from the tour bus. She asked local musicians for love songs as currency for cool drinks. With these musical alliances, La Hengst quickly filled Café Europa's "Eurabian" jukebox. In a musical slide show, Bernadette La Hengst tells and sings herself about Southern Europe in the Maghreb and plays her versions of the songs that have long been popular in Madrid and Casablanca: Como sueña el amor en Madrid tras la crisis (How does love sound in Madrid after the crisis)? or Ridan inchallah sa ejido el hob fieh Casablanca (Tomorrow, if God wills, I will find love in Casablanca). A travel report that seamlessly turns into a concert and that can be danced to.

Isolated and in the smallest nothing less happens than what the greatest tell us. Lambe Lambe is a theatre technique that has been revived and celebrated since the 1990s, especially in Latin America. It is widespread all over the world and has recently been on the rise again. In miniature theatre boxes, figures and objects in the "Forest of Miniature Theatre" are played in short scenes for only one spectator at a time.

The journalist and the music manager have been friends since they got to know each other through their work in 2011. Back then they went to concerts all the time and spent a legendary time in Felix's old punk rock flat. But new jobs in new cities followed and so the memorable evenings became more and more rare. In February 2018 they met again at a Knochenfabrik concert and indulged in memories of the good wild punk rock time back then. That night they wondered if there were any places out there where subculture and punk still mean real rebellion. To get to the bottom of their question, Diana and Felix went on an adventurous research trip across Southeast Asia the following summer. On the way they visited countless underground concerts, met with graffiti sprayers and talked to activists who already knew jails from the inside because of their convictions. Texts that prove that flexing, the flâneuserie must finally be taken seriously. The characters in the anthology roam through Berlin, Paris, Jakarta, Istanbul and Mumbai. They tell us, among other things, how a woman with a pram experiences the big city, a woman experiences a big demonstration in Dresden, that strolling in India already means activism, how history inscribes itself in the place and sometimes the city itself even becomes a figure.
We are missing an emotional and honest side in radical left discourse. How do people actually feel while fighting against repression? Which experiences are being made? Being political active does often mean to not show any feelings of weakness or softness. But we think especially from a feminist perspective it's important to allow those feelings to be and to share them. Showing vulnerability and talking openly about experiences and your feelings is not a sign of weakness, it's rather a sign of being strong and honest to yourself. People (from in- and outside the community) sometimes forget, that behind all those strong symbolics, words and actions, there are people who also live their daily life and struggle with many things. That's why we want to open up this space and show a different side of activism. In a way more simple while sharing thoughts without having a poltical claim, but also in a way more complex while showing different feelings and experiences, you mostly don't hear of.
What is love? Baby don't hurt me Don't hurt me No more We are looking for love - as an ideal. As a social reality. We juggle with the social codes of relationship and gender. We are hungry, we play, we are lovable, we are poisonous and we wait for you. You want to take a look? Come closer... even closer... much closer...

HEADcase is a visual poem, a literally changing picture of our life journeys. If you look at it, you may be able to feel the feeling of being lost. Or what it feels like to have to find one's way at all or to make spontaneous changes of direction, always including the impossibility of arriving or the possibility of continuing. We see two ladies in their best clothes, ready for the journey of life. They have suitcase heads and walk blindly. We look at their doubts about the next steps. Or their trust in the help of randomly present people. Where are they led? We see our own vulnerability, but also how much we usually try to camouflage it. We see that sometimes we need a hand. Not only to lead us, but also to show: "We are here together."

The Mediterranean is the most dangerous escape route in the world. Nevertheless, numerous fugitives from war and persecution choose it - because it is often the last possibility for refugees to get to Europe. Civilian sea rescue is fully committed to universal human rights and its activists are the last proactive actors on the ground, despite increasing criminalization since state rescue missions were discontinued. In "Let's dance with the dead" an activist and her crew of hippies, punks and incorrigible do-gooders set sail to save drowning people from certain death. They are driven by the unacceptable inhumanity of the world and the hope of rebelliously living up to their own convictions. When their rescue operations are sabotaged and criminalized, the frame-up political game takes on new dimensions. We will witness mercilessly, as the protagonists' doubts rise against a society, who tries to keep millions of mentally and politically suffering at the greatest possible distance.

Three characters run the rides. Sometimes as carousel pushers, sometimes as scenery pushers they moisten and feed the leisurely animals. And then tell true stories or stories that could be true. These are the rules of the game: You can stay as long as you want. As soon as someone comes out, another person can go in. To keep our slimy animal buddies from getting scared to death, the audience is limited to 12.

Why is "sweeten" good, but "spoil" bad? We do not know. Maybe the snake charming Circus Maria Band knows. It appears everywhere where snakes snake and legs stand in queues. Waiting times are musically sweetened (but not salted - at most spiced!) with rhythms from vegan waltzes, melodies of Halal-Klezmer and here and there a good pinch of tree-jazz! What you queue is what you get!
